Reliability and Small MIDI Fixes
We thought v1.13 was going to be the last update until we released Windows, but with the help of many users we found and patched numerous bugs with MIDI and a fixed a few other issues as well. It is mostly small bugfixes, but this should leave Synesthesia in a more reliable and usable state while we dedicate all our focus on getting to Windows.
Note: For best results with this MIDI update, you should consider deleting all of your old MIDI mappings and starting with a clean slate. To do so, plug in your devices and go to Settings -> MIDI. Then click "reset" next to each device. You'll lose all your old mappings, but may avoid crashes from an old corrupted MIDI file.
- Fixed a bug where Synesthesia would crash when MIDI mapping media files.
- Fixed a bug where the saved MIDI Mappings could sometimes get corrupted, forcing users to delete all mappings and start fresh.
- Fixed a bug where certain MIDI controllers and virtual devices were appearing in Settings but not able to be MIDI mapped.
- Fixed a bug where constant MIDI messages, like clock data or system messages, were able to "eat" mappings, making it difficult to map a note or CC from certain devices.
- Meta Controls "default" button was not resetting media playback controls like Pause and Playback Speed. It now does. Note that "randomize" still doesn't affect these controls.
- Fixed a crash that would occur if you tried to edit a built-in "Read Only" scene without duplicating first.
