1.15.9 for OSX and Windows
This is our first release updating both platforms at once. It is mostly a "stability" update, with many bugfixes and performance increases, especially focused on making MIDI reliable and taking Windows much closer to being out of Beta. Plus one big new feature, Spout Input is finally here.
- Windows: Spout Input is up and running, accessible through Settings.
- New "One Mapping per Message" toggle in the MIDI panel, giving you the option to have your mappings overwrite one another instead of stacking to control multiple controls at once.
- Now when a playlist includes custom scenes that are no longer available because the custom scene folder was changed, they will appear red and unselectable.
- You can now set a custom name for Synesthesia's Spout and Syphon output server, which should help with dual-instancing.
- Fixed a crash caused by MIDI mapping the XY handle instead of the highlighted sliders.
- Fixed a crash related to unhandled types of MIDI message.
- Fixed a bug where creating or deleting MIDI mappings from a scene could remove mappings from a different scene.
- Fixed a bug where Pause and Playback Speed meta controls were not responding to MIDI input.
- Windows: fixed a bug where MIDI controllers could appear duplicated and be ignored in the MIDI Devices tab.
- New MIDI error handling. Errors will print to the developer console if they arise.
- Minor MIDI performance increases.
- Minor quality of life fixes and restylings in the MIDI panel.
- There is one final large MIDI performance boost that couldn't make it into this release but will be released at a later date.
- Windows: Greatly improved CPU-side performance. The application should feel snappier and load quicker across the board.
- Windows: Fixed a bug causing scenes to appear in reverse order in the gallery.
- Windows: Fixed a bug that prevented shader compilation errors from printing correctly.
- Windows: Fixed a crash related to FFMPEG, when quitting the program while a .mp4 was open.
- Windows: Fixed a bug preventing 'Transitions' from automatically firing when the audio engine detected a transition.
- Windows: Fixed a bug causing Biopsy and pxl_sort_1 to fail, giving all black.
- Windows: Fixed a bug where pressing the 'alt' key would pause the application.
- Windows Installer now gracefully quits while "Launch Synesthesia" is checked, instead of hanging in the background.
- Scene creation through the Import Panel no longer claims to have failed even after succeeding.
- If a scene fails to launch for any reason, the last scene loaded will now relaunch to keep the graphics and audio pipelines running seamlessly.
- Clarified the app_preferences.json file to only save the useful user-set settings.
