v1.16 for Windows and macOS
Presets + Playlists = Power. Presets now control media in addition to controls, you can choose a specific preset for a scene to always start with, and you can MIDI map presets. Playlists now launch scene + preset pairings, you can set different times for each scene, and you can have multiple of the same scene in a playlist. Plus you can now backup and import/export presets, playlists, and your settings to save different show files.
- Presets can now change scene controls, meta controls, and media.
- The Preset Palette in the right panel lets you create and modify presets for the current scene.
- Presets now have channels (scene, meta, and media) that can be muted to change whether the preset will affect those controls or not.
- Individual channels can be overwritten to modify a preset’s state without affecting other channels.
- Presets can be triggered, duplicated, renamed, and removed in the preset palette.
- Every scene now has a “default” preset which just resets the scene controls to their hardcoded default.
- Your existing presets will automatically migrate over to the new version’s preset form, leaving behind a “deprecated_control_presets.json” file in case of error.
- Since presets can fire on scene launch it is now possible for meta controls to change or reset while changing scene. To preserve the old workflow of “meta controls never change while changing scenes”, you can now lock the meta controls to force them to stay constant while changing scenes or triggering presets.
- Above the scene controls there are now 10 slots into which presets can be placed for easy launching and organization.
- FavSlots are MIDI Mappable, so you can launch presets via MIDI.
- The first slot (gold colored) is special. It lets you replace the scene’s default controls so that when the scene launches it will launch with a designated preset instead of the default.
- Presets can be triggered by clicking on a favslot loaded with a preset.
- Playlists can now launch a scene with the user-chosen default preset or any preset.
- Multiple of the same scene can be added to a playlist.
- Each entry in a playlist can have an individually set countdown time.
- Next, Previous, and Play buttons added, all MIDI mappable.
- Playlist reordering is easier, you can use either number or up/down arrows.
- Playlists can be renamed and duplicated.
- Cleaner visual style, less clutter, more compact.
- 3 View Modes for each control bank: Standard, Single Row, and Collapsed.
- “Single Row” mode allows for horizontal scrolling instead of vertical, no more scrolling to find media and losing view of your controls.
- Bangs now give visual feedback when triggered via MIDI.
- Sliders, Knobs, and XY pads don’t jump to where you click, instead you the move relatively with your mouse, so you can smoothly grab and move a control every time.
- When moving sliders, knobs, and XY pads with the mouse, you can hold down shift to increase the precision of movement by 3x.
- Made the preview window slightly bigger.
- You can now filter your media based on folder.
- You can now designate a folder to save backups of Synesthesia “showfiles”. This will save all of your settings, playlists, presets, custom scene and media folders. You can import and export these backups to have different loadouts for different shows.
- Added a MIDI panel tab for mapping favslots.

- Spout and Syphon output resolution is now constant across scenes and can be chosen by users.

- Split Syphon/Spout into separate row in settings.
- Synesthesia now accepts 4k resolution images and videos.
